Finally a new post, with lotsa pics!!!! (Mccain/Palin rallly, the kids, W VA etc)

beautiful West Virginia
Exactly a week ago today, to the minute, I was standing in a HUGE line waiting for the doors to open to the McCain/Palin rally at Lunken Airport, Cincy. Many thanks to my friend, Piepie who informed me of the rally. She called me Monday night and left a message (since I missed the call) askin if I'd be interested in going and driving her. I was of course, but Wednesdays are my clincal days from 7 am to 1:30 pm and i was afraid i wouldn't be able to go. I was delighted to find out that the doors didn't open till 3:30 and the "show" didn't start till 5:30 and of course the 2 main people weren't supposed to show up till later. So, I decided to go. I got home from clincials and quickly changed clothes. Then me and Piepie headed out. I was a little worried about finding the right place once I arrived at the airport and i shouldn't have worried we were there nearly an hour an a half before the gates opened but there were already a LOT in line, plus more arriving, and tons of vendors of McCain/Palin items. I FINALLY found a place to park, me and Piepie bought buttons (see pic below) then started walkin towards the line, we stopped again to buy tee shirts (the Road to Victory Mccain Palin rally tee shirt) for only $5 each!! Finally we got into line and surprisingly the time passed quickly. The gates didn't open right at 3:30 (does anything happen on time?) but they did eventually then we went through security. We had to take off all buttons, metal items that we could. Turn on all electronics. and put our purses or bags down to be looked through, then walk through a metal detector thing. Yeah, i made it through w/o making the thing beep! lol :). We then walked into the hangar where the rally was held. We found a place to stand, pretty close to the front, when you look at the whole spectrum. lol. We were maybe 10-15 rows of tightly packed standing people back. My pics (below) make it look like we are way far away, but a lot of people who have pics that look closer were farther behind us they just must have cameras that zoom in more than mine. Oh well. We stood and stood and stood. My feet were KILLING me!!! They had just gotten un-sore (lol) from a 5+ mile walk i did the previous Satruday (the 18th) for Autism Awareness (for school). of course the thing didn't start on time. when it did some women who have some small political offices in Cincy talked then some guy talked (don't know who he was ) just enough to get us all rallied up and excited then they put on that stupid music that they played the whole 2 hours before the thing started, and made us wait, talk about a let down. FINALLY they showed, on the big screen, a plane landing. Once it got closer we could see the side of it, it proudly said "Mccain-Palin". So of course the crowd got SOOO excited, we waited and waited but no one got off, so back to the waiting game. Eventually country singer, Gretchen Wilson showed up with her band and sang "redneck woman" not my favorite singer or song, but oh well... then during her song they showed on the screen another plane landing this one with just "Mccain" on the side. we all got excited again. but this was the real deal. It took forever for all those secret service or whoever they were to get off but after what seemed like hours FINALLY John McCain and Sarah Palin (and spouses) accompanied by Rob Portman (i think) got off. I cannot tell you how excited that crowd was. I joined the rest in screamin at the top of my lungs for them, lol, it was SO FUN! Rob Portman introduced the first speaker, Cindy Mccain, after her SARAH then john mccain, then of course it was over. So i didn't get to meet them actually but i saw them and it was SO exciting. I went to a Bush rally in 2004 the day before the election, that was my first experience at anything like this and i LOVED, i was like one of Bush's biggest fans/supporters. this rally was totally different, i think the excitement level was MUCH higher and much more and louder screams at the Mccain rally, and it seemed like more people, but there was more entertainment at the Bush rally, it seemed like we walked in and didn't wait long and then everything started. oh well they both were awesome experiences. I've been wanting to go to a McCain palin rally after seeing everyone else's pics and am so glad i finally got the opportunity. see the pics below

Ok, what else. School has been ok. lately i've been getting overwhelmed and kind of depressed. I think I'm just ready for a break, I mean there was fall break, but how is 2-3 days a break when you have 2 exams and a project due right after it? I'm looking forward to thanksgiving break, but even more to Christmas Break!! YEAH..

I went 2 west virginia since i posted last. It was SOOO much fun. My cousin, Sierra, was home on Saturday, she had a competetion but it got canceled. So we went 2 the flea market Saturday mornin, and went 2 walmart saturday night. SO MUCH FUN! we tried on halloween masks and etc and had just so much fun. ok i admit i didn't act my age, but hey it's all in fun. i didn't post any pics of the walmart trip or flea market cuz i got tired of posting pics and doubt many people read this or even care. but if yaal wanna see just let me know (in comments) and i'll post them sometime. sunday mornin was church, i LOVE their new pastor. they finally have a good man as their pastor! their last 2 pastors, have been not so great women. dad took us on a 4 wheeler ride that afternoon, that was fun like always. I did post a few pics below of my grandparents from our trip but that and the scenery pic above is all.

Fall Break, like i mentioned, was a few weeks ago. That Tuesday i went walmart shopping with mom, jess, and the kids, like we do in summer (they still do know, i just don't go) so that was fun i posted a few pics of the kids i got from that day.

Well, of course i could think of more but i'm sure you've read enough, or most prolly just skip the reading and look at pics. i should go anyway i have homework to do before tomorrow.

Oh, Jess and bill & the kids r comin out Friday night we're gonna have a "Bonfire" because Sedona wants one, then sedona is spending the night, with me! fun stuff! lol should be interesting.

Also, don't forget to VOTE Tuesday. Speaking of which, i went to bob evans saturday evening with my parents. i wore my Mccain Palin pin i got at the rally. the manager lady who seated us asked me after we were seated, "can i ask you a question?" "why are you voting for mccain" i got scared thinking she was gonna yell at me but she went on "I'm an undecided voter, trying to figure out who to vote for". so me and dad preceded to tell her a few reasons we were voting for him (most of them were anti obama stuff) so that was exciting that i got to "witness" for mccain! lol if i can even get 1 voter to vote for him from my pin my money was well spent. Our waitress (another lady) said that her son's room looks like a mccain headquarters. she said he has tons of Mccain signs that he has taken from different peoples yards. lol of course she said you have to take them back, how old is he? 7! you can tell it's an important election when even the little kids are talking about it. My sisters kindergarteners were asking the other day "who are you voting for?" everyone answered "McCain" except one. lol. You know i heard some people discussing the election Saturday at the table behind us at Skyline and it got me to thinking. they were obviously for mccain but they were sayin, you know it might very well be God's will for Obama to get in office, to turn America to it's knees. and i thought about that and it made SOO much sense. If he wins and results of that might make america turn back to God. Although, i support Mccain and do NOT want obama to win, and i will never call obama president fyi, he will always be "obama" to me, the thought that maybe, just maybe America might have a revival excited me. I mean we've been praying for God's will in this election. That he will put the best person, most conducive to revival can get in, right? i know i have. sometimes God works in mysterious ways, i guess we'll see..

oh well, on to the pics,

My grandpa (papa!!!) these are mom's parents by the way...

Mama

Papa again. He was sweeping the leafs and apples up in his yard, we were all scared he was gonna get stung, since like 50 million (slight exaggeration) bees were flyin around...

Guess who taught Cam that fishy face?? Oh yeah!! i taught brice too, by the way...

I don't claim to be a great photographer, but i have to admit this is a REALLY cute pic! actually the pose was her idea, we were in her back yard and she just kept movin down the fence "take a picture here" "take a picture down here" and so on, i have more but this is the best.

Awww he HAS to be the cutest lil guy ever!!!

My beautiful niece!

and i just LOVE this pic of brice, adorable.

some of the media at the rally. this was obviously shortly after the doors opened.

the front of the place. the place where people talked was a LOT closer than where the people up there were sitting.

More front

Some of the crowd, I just held my camera in the air and snapped this pic. i didn't know how many people were there i didn't think it was THAT much, but dad told me the news said 10,000! lol i guess we were close 2 the front! haha

Me & Piepie waiting for it to start. NOT a good pic of me but best i could do under the circumstances.

The first plane (on the screen) that was our false alarm

gretchen wilson and band (she's the one in the middle, lol)

The REAL plane, SO exciting (on the screen)

Can you tell we were excited?

YEAH

after i got home i tried to get a good pic of me with all the buttons but it didn't work so i just took a pic of them w/o me! lol. so you think 3 is enough plus the sticker?? lol... i wore a patriotic tee shirt too with a jacket...

Well, that's all for this time, it's off to homework i go. see yaal later, hope you've enjoyed. if anyone reads this some comments would be nice....

I would blog, but....

So, I've kinda been wanting to blog since it has been a little while, but i know that most people only look at the pics and skip the words, (much to my dismay of course i mean you type and type and type so other can read it, and all they do is scroll down to the pics) I've done it too i admit, but most of the time I read posts unless they're super long or boring! lol... So I took the pics you'll see below to capture yaals attention (I'll explain about them later).
My life has been same old same old. School, school, and..oh yeah school! Lol...School is pretty much the same, exciting news-next week is midterm! Halfway through this semester! Man, time does fly! On the down side of that i have 2 exams next week, 1 in Anatomy & Physiology, that I'm REALLY worried about because it's over EVERYTHING we've done so far and all our teacher told us was basically know and understand everything, so how're you gonna study that? The other exam is another NUR 120 (nursing), I'm not really worried about it, I know i need to get studying (i don't wanna keep puttin off studying till the night before) and yeah. On the up side though, next week is fall break or affectionately known by some of us as "fall pause" because we only have Monday and Tuesday off! But since Tuesday there is no clinicals i have wednesday off as well, since they can't have Wed. clinicals w/o Tues. clinicals! So what am i gonna do over this small break you might ask? well, let's see, study for my 2 exams and do a nutrition project/paper that is due the week after next. FUN i know...but hey, it's got to be done! About the nutrition project, I know you all don't care (sorry) we have to write a "scholarly paper" and do a three day menu plan plus exercise plan for a case study person thing, we have 4 choices of people. The people are all different ages, backgrounds, races, ethnicity, and you have to take those into consideration. Some, want to lose weight some want to remain the same. So i picked the one that looked the easiest, a 29 y.o. single Muslim woman (and just to be sure you understand these are FAKE people!) who it 5'6 and weighs 135 she wants to keep her weight the same. So my job is to research and etc and pick out a 3 day menu (3 meals a day, 2 snacks) that will go with everything about her.... so after clincial today i went to the Gamble Library in the Hospital and found several online journal articles and printed them plus info on Muslim's beliefs concerning food. So, I'm kinda thinking that will be fun, but kinda not..hopefully i do good, it's a not small part of my grade!
Clincials today went pretty well, he assigned us people to do vitals/assist with bed bath etc and gave them indiviually! Well I lucked out and he put me with another girl, because she wasn't there last week, so yeah we worked together and it was kinda fun, I definately feel more prepared for next clinicals (2 wks from today since none next week) when we have our own patient assignments for the first time.... so yeah, i helped with a bath, vitals, changing bed linens, charting on the computer etc.
Another point of interest, For the first time in 5 or more years, I will not be going to Homecoming/Homefest at GBS. I've been required there the last 5 years, and obviously i'm not this year. See, our West Virginia weekend is always on homecoming and we can't change it cuz we go when they have the flea market (once a month) we've just always gone back Sat. morning, but i told my parents that I'll just skip it this year it's ok. My biggest regret about missing it is missing the "concert". After being so much involved with GBS last and for high school it's so weird this year.... i haven't heard the choir/band/or any qts trios this year. An i won't be missing too much at homefest cuz the last 5 years I've been stuck behind a booth all night anyway! I am looking forward 2 W VA though, because My cousin's band competition for saturday got canceled so i can hang out with her like normal (last month she was gone Friday till like 10 pm at a football game (again she's in marching band) and was gone ALL day iiterally Saturday at a competition, it was gonna be that way this weekend too until their comp. got canceled cuz the SRS have to take their SATS so that's exciting...
Well now my explanation for the pics..i went to kroger yesterday with my sister (actually i drove so she went with me...lol...but i went cuz she had to get some things) anyway i had to get a few groceries for this week and milk was one of them. Now any of you who know me well know i don't like milk, well white milk (to drink). i eat it in cereal and if it's the only thing offered (aka band tour) i drink it, and i do like chocolate milk btw, anyway i needed just a little milk for cereal. i didn't wanna get a whole 1/2 (lol) gallon so i was just gonna get one of those little jugs til i saw this:

And of course since I'm fascinated with small things i thought it was SOOO cute! So I got it.... In case you can't tell really well, it's a 1/2 1/2 gallon! lol... to put it in context :
Here is my lil milk with a regular 1/2 gallon. Cool, huh? Maybe those have been out a while and i'm just slow finding out (i am the last to know everything ya know)
Well, besides all that I've been keeping up with the prez campaign of course... I was fascianted to find out you can watch the debates on the internet, so of COURSE i watched the sarah palin/joe biden debate, and fyi she did AWESOME, she was the real winner (in my opinion), I watched some of the Mccain/Obama one last night but didn't finish it because A-got bored B-had stuff to do C-Had to be at school by 7 today, but what i did see i thought mccain did really good.
anyways i better sign off, i have lotsa homework to do!
have a good weekend
ps i should have some new pics after the weekend and then next week

Really quick post

Hey, I just checked my email and received the following as a forward from a friend, I thought it would be circulated best to just put in on here, so PLEASE read this and pass it on!!! Thanks

TAKE A FEW MOMENTS AND READ THIS LETTER. THESE ARE STRONG, POWERFUL AND COURAGEOUS WORDS COMING FROM A RETIRED COLONEL, AND READ WHAT LINCOLN HAD TO SAY AT THE END. WOW!
33 Senators Voted Against English as America 's Official Language on June 6, 2007.On Wed. 6 June 2007, Colonel Harry Riley, USA, Ret. wrote:Senators:Your vote against an amendment to the immigration Bill 1348.... to make English America's official language is astounding. On D-Day, no less, when we honor those that sacrificed in order to secure the bedrock, character and principles of America, I can only surmise your vote reflects a loyalty to illegal aliens. I don't much care where you come from. What your religion is. Whether you're black, white, or some other color...male or female......Democrat, Republican or Independent....... But I do care when you are a United States Senator representing Citizens of America ...and Vote against English as the official language of the United States. Your vote reflects Betrayal. Political Surrender. Violates Your Pledge of Allegiance. Dishonors historical principle. Rejects Patriotism. Borders on traitorous action and, in my opinion, makes you unfit to serve as a United States Senator...impeachment... Recall........Or other appropriate action is warranted, or worse. Four of you voting against English as America 's Official Language are Presidential Candidates: Senator Biden, Senator Clinton, Senator Dodd and Senator Obama.Four Senators vying to lead America, but won't, or don't, have the courage to cast a vote in favor of English as America's Official Language when 91% of American Citizens want English officially designated as our language. Ignoring citizen's requests and demands! What is that? Treason! This is the second time in the last several months this list of Senators have disgraced themselves as 'political Hacks'..... Unworthy as Senators and certainly unqualified to serve as President of the United States. If America is as angry as I am, you will realize a backlash so stunning it will literally 'rock you out of your socks'......... And preferably totally out of the United States Senate. The entire immigration bill is a farce... Your action only confirms this really isn't about America ... it is about self-serving politics......despicable at best. It has been said: 'Never argue with an Idiot....They'll drag you down to their level!'
PRESIDENT ABRAHAM LINCOLN SAID: 'Congressmen who willfully take actions during wartime that damages morale and undermine the military are saboteurs and should be arrested, quickly tried and hanged!!!'PLEASE KEEP THIS GOING AROUND THE UNITED STATES UNTIL THE ELECTION IN NOVEMBER!

Also, if any of you prayed for me and my NUR 100 test yesterday THANK YOU! i found out my score today (97.5)!!! So yeah I am happy about that!!!

Lalia, another girl-Jessica, and I practiced in skills lab today, I'll post pics as soon as Lalia emails them to me.

Now i have to go clean my apartment & pack before i go home (to my parents house) in an hour (my sis is goin with me, so that's why i can't leave now)

have a good weekend

the video i promised

Here is the video at Dillards. Correction it was on my camera not phone. But anyway by the time i got it ready 2 video Katie was almost to the top....I started laughing because she passed people! lol and she later said they were like "oh my goodness" ....lol it was funny anyway..guess you had to be there... and now that i have figured out how to post videos more to come....

An Update, finally....

Well, I've been really busy lately, no time to blog. Well the time i did have to "waste" i wasted on other stuff aka facebook etc. I thought since I do have all the rest of the day, I should blog, so here I am..... Well first I guess should be school. School is goin pretty well. Of course it's a TON of work & like i told an old friend the other day (who is not in nursing school but is goin 2 the cincy police academy sometime soon) that i could work 24/7 and still have work to do, and that is no exaggeration!!! I'm not complaining though, I do enjoy it, sometimes, it certainly is more fufilling that just sitting at home reading books (what i did this summer). And maybe I'm weird but i feel so satisfied to scratch somethin off my to-do list! I'm not sure if i ever put on here my classes so i'll do it now, not that you care, but.... anyways NONE on Mondays, Every other Tuesday morning i have Academic & Life Transitions (basically a required college success course), Then every Tuesday I have Anatomy & Physiology then after that lab, then at 1:50 i'm done, Wednesdays is clinicals from 7 am to 1:30 pm... they've been goin pretty well so far, I have a good clinical group and i like my instructor... we haven't really done a lot with the patients yet, but we're supposed to be on our unit (floor) 3 hours next week... fun fun...and did i mention the *sarcastic tone of voice* lovely!!! dress i have to wear?? Truly lovely..i don't have a pic of me wearing it (cuz i live alone and don't think my camera has self timer) oh well, you're not missing much! lol..if i ever do get a pic i'll post it.... Thursdays i have a nursing class....Foundations of Nursing Practice ..something like that first thing..then lovely A & P again then Concepts for Nursing Practice or something like that.... Fridays- First thing Foundations again then 3 hour break (where i go home, eat lunch, and practice in skills lab) then Nursing Health Assessment. SO yep that might not sound like a lot but it's a load! It's hard to believe it's almost October already...pretty soon it will be Christmas break and I'll have 1 semester of nursing school over with *yeah* then ... 4 more to go (i think & that's including summer semester)... Anyways skills lab is a room at the college set up like a hospital room (it's really cool actually) with maniquins that you can practice skills on... we have to have 8 hours in this semester! so i've been practicing every friday for an hour with lalia, and i've included some pics of when we practiced puttin on PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), :) fun... She took some on her camera of us practicing bed baths (on maniquins of course) and if she emails them to me i might them up... anyways enough about school....

What else.... well a few weekends ago (i don't think i posted this) i went out with some of my old friends (Katie, Piepie and Santiago). It was a RAINY day, but it had stopped raining so we went putt putt of course the course was soaked..... I think I actually WON, first time in my life! lol...that was fun.... like yeah Piepie hit her ball across this creek into the water and Santi had to rescue it... he rescued us many times... Until like 1 hole from the end i lost mine in the pond :( oh well.. It was fun, nevertheless... i don't have pics tho cuz there on katie's camera and she never emailed them.... after that we still had time (it was a friday and they had to be back at school by 10 cuz katie had to be somewhere), so we went 2 the mall (much to santi's dispair of course, lol) we just walked around mainly, but we did try hats on at dillards (see pics below) and me & katie rode the roller coaster ride thing then me and santi did... so we had fun, but yeah i spent the rest of the weekend doin homework to make up for it! *sigh*

Oh, In dillards katie ran up the down escalator i caught the end of it on video on my phone, i might try to post that in a different post...

Oh, i FINALLY moved into my apartment!!! Last week.... we moved in monday since we didn't have electric so dad and craig couldn't work... i didn't stay here till tuesday night tho, at first cuz i didn't wanna stay here w/o electric but tuesday i'm like i'm NOT getting up at 5 to drive in 4 clinicals wednesday so i toughed it out w/o electric the rest of the week... it made me appreciate electric a LOT more than i did! I know all of yaal know about the storm/hurricane causing the power outage so i won't tell you again, actually we were in west virginia when it hit so all we got back there was some wind. we came home (sunday night) to no power... got up monday and moved into my apt. My older sister (with the 3 kids) & her husband had their electric back on but none of the rest of us...mom and dad got theres on tuesday morning but i didn't get mine (and my other sis too) till friday afternoon, talk about frustrating... i had to eat out like everymeal!!! that had some good parts tho... i got to know my friend lalia a lot better (since we ate together) & we have fun at the mexican restauraunt (twice) *wink*wink* oh and there was the "episode" with the honduran dude in kmart parking lot! lol.... and we found out you have to pay for mcdonald's wifi.... oh well...

about the apartment, i LOVE it!!! it's really small just a kitchen, bedroom, and bathroom, but its plenty big enough for just me. I really like it now that i have electric and can cook my meals rather than going out... oh and studying by electric rather than candle & flashlight is nice too... i've heard shots at least one night just down the road... it was after dark and heard like 6 or 7 consecutive popping sounds.. i DIDN'T look out the window, but i've heard it before and it was identified as shots..one night that happened twice like maybe 30 min apart.. so that's a lil scary, i was more scared though last week when i had to leave my windows open for air & some windows don't have screens.... whenever i take pics of the apt. i'll post them so you can see....

well, i can't think of anything else to say, off the top of my head, so i better go, i have a NUR 100 (concepts of nursing practice) test/exam tomorrow i definately have 2 study a ton for, plus i have to read A & P and take the pre test online...and yeah i think that's it but it's enough... and i would like to clean my apt but we'll see if there's time...oh and yeah i'm fixin a chicken pot pie 4 supper *yumm* loooky @ my pics below:

Me wearin PPE in skills lab

Lalia trying to put her facemask on i found it funny cuz the thing went over her eyes..so i took a pic

Lalia, PPE on

At the mall, Piepie, katie, Me

My shirt is wet because 1- it had started drizzling b4 we left putt putt and 2- on the fake waterfall at the putt putt place, santi kinda threw water one me......of course later (when he wan't suspecting) i retaliated and got him went too!

We look French according to katie, and we're all wearing these hats differently...whos right?? not me i'm sure

The best pic :) We coaxed Santi to try the purple hat on and take a pic....but the sales lady saw us! lol and as we passed her to leave (later) she's like you girls didn't make him get that hat.... lol we found it funny dunno about santi tho...

Update on the deck, i came home one weekend to find these, as i called them "pillars to the heavens" on the deck... since then the cement has been poured, the deck has been made 1 level (it was 2 levels), and some of the floor is on... i'll post another later when there is more progress...

Well if anyone reads this b4 tomorrow pray for me i have that test at noon. Thanks,

and also, comments would be nice if anyone reads this *hint*hint*

Labor Day Events...

So, I'm a lil late in posting, but I've been REALLY busy with school!!! About school, if any of you don't know, I'm going to The Christ College of Nursing & Health Sciences. I'm going to be moving into my own apartment next week on GBS campus, but for now I'm staying weeks with my sister & bro in law at GBS and weekends at home. Overall, I like school, My friend Lalia is in almost all of my classes, and there are some cool people in our "block". I have an awesome clinical instructor, and have a few friends in my clinical group. Only this is there is TONS of work!! Any of you familiar with nursing school will know that. That's the reason I'm blogging about Labor Day a week after it happened. And I'm just doing this between homework, I really should be working on a project (due Wed.) or studying for the exam (first nursing exam) on Thursday that I haven't really started studying for. But nevertheless here I am.

Well, On Labor Day the guys (dad and Craig) obviously took the work "labor" seriously. No, just kidding. They did take the day off of work (Craig works for dad) and started the project of ripping the deck off. See our back deck has needed replacing for a while, so they took it upon themselves to start the project. I decided to take pictures to commemorate the event. They haven't started rebuilding it yet, but I think dad and mom went in town this afternoon to get some supplies from Lowe's. I spent my labor day, not going on a picnic, or watching fireworks, but seated at the kitchen table working on.. you guessed it, schoolwork. Well, here r the pics..enjoy...

The first pic on top is Dad and Craig after the railing had already been removed.

The pile of wood that used to be our railing.

The lil hole they made in the deck floor.

View from other angle.

My labors for the day, homework

Oh, wait! That's not all here are the rest (i think) of my schoolbooks & notebooks

Later, they got the floor off!!

Other angle, with dad.

Here is the birthday present I received from my mom and dad, a beautiful cedar chest.

well, That's it I think for this time. If yaal would pray for me, nursing school is a lot harder than GBS, and i'm having some problems with one (gen ed) class, Anatomy & Physiology! I'm going to meet with the teacher this week to try to work something out. This past Friday night I went out with some friends from GBS (Katie, Piepie, Santiago) we went putt putt, although the course was soaked cuz it had rained all day, but thankfully the rain held off till we were on our 15th hole i think, after that we still had time so we went to the mall, fun times, then Walmart, then i dropped them off at school before going home. I only have pics from the mall, but when Katie emails me putt putt pics, I'll do a blog about that. Although it was a TON of fun, I have somewhat regretted going, since I've been swamped all weekend since with homework! Well hope yaal have a good week!
